Jesus claimed some things
If there is one thing that Steven Butwell could ever compel you to read it is this. At least consider and don’t merely shun what Jesus said and by all means test it! If Jesus can make a disciple out of a 19 year atheist, I am certain He can do the same for you, wherever you are in life-
Jesus said He is God (John 10:30, Mark 14:61-62), was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:23), that all men are sinners, separated from God at birth (Psalm 51:5, Psalm 53:1-3, Romans 3:23), in need of a Savior. (Luke 19:10)
Jesus said the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) and that while we were yet sinners, He died for us. (Romans 5:8, Mark 10:45) Jesus said He is the Son of God (John 20:31, Acts 9:20, Luke 8:28), the Son of Man (Mark 8:31), the only mediator between God and Man (1 Tim: 2:5-6), the Savior of the world (1 John 4:14-15, Isaiah 43:11) the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and End, the Lamb that was slain (Revelation 22:13, 5:12), the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29-30)
Jesus said He is the Word (John 1:1-3) , the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, the creator of all things in heaven and on earth, visible or invisible all things were created through Him and for Him, that He is before all things and in Him all things hold together. (Colossians. 1:15-17)
Jesus said He holds all things together by the power of His word and that He is the exact imprint of God’s nature. (Hebrews 1:3)
Jesus said He is the head of the body, the church, (Colossians 1:18) the Good Shepherd (John 10:11), the Door to the sheep (John 10:7), the Bread of Life (John 6:48,51), the Vine (John 15:1-5), the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25-26), the Light of the world (John 8:12, Psalm 119:105).
Jesus said He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6) Jesus said He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords (Revelation 17:14, 19:16) and the Creator of Heaven and Earth (Genesis 1:1, John 1:3), our High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-15) and Advocate before the Father. (1 John 2:1)
…and Jesus said there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other Name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
Did Jesus speak truth? At minimum seek and ask Him! If you’re uncertain, I challenge you to pray and ask Jesus Himself for clarity. -and look for yourselves, do some research.
